My work has changed directions slightly throughout the years. I studied Art at Humboldt State University where I studied painting, printmaking and Art History. My work started as an exploration of my own random movements and the movement of the medium itself, finding forms in that movement and using the forms in a dreamlike atmosphere or composition.
I started plein air painting as a discipline to practice painting images outside to better my more imaginative paintings. Soon I was attracted to the difficulties and challenges of trying to capture images outside in open air. This is where my work continues now. Although, I will continue with more original images in the future, I will do it with a more practiced technique. I hope you enjoy some of the examples of this journey. |
